What is Pornography?

Pornography is any material that intentionally appeals to your sexual desire for physical satisfaction.  This material usually is explicitly sexual in nature depicting semi or fully naked individuals posing or participating in sexual acts meant to cause arousal to the consumer.

Pornography has often been classified into different intensity levels such as soft or hard core.  These levels depend on how much nakedness is revealed and to what extent sexual acts are depicted.

Pornography is made with the intention of capturing the attention of individuals, luring them in through curiosity, and serving them material to appeal to their emotions and physical desires.

Pornography is extremely addictive because it delivers instant gratification to our physical needs of sexual release and appeals to our visual desires and lusts.  It also gives the consumers a false sense of intimacy as they seek to connect with another human being.  This false intimacy leaves the consumer unsatisfied and thus  seeks another encounter.

Pornography is widespread and can be found at local gas stations, book or video stores and especially the internet.  Our culture has come to accept the existence of pornography as an expression of free speech or just another way to take care of a physical need.

Pornography is a billion dollar industry which hides in the shadows of mainstream society and tries inserting itself into everyday life to become more accepted.  The unfortunate truth is that those billions do not enrich our lives or the lives of the actors and actresses.  Pornography actually uses and sometimes abuses the actors and actresses.  It burdens society with unfulfilled needs, helpless addicts and shame to the nations that accept it.
